Siver Sage

I finally found a job! There is a little cafe/gas station/mini mart across from our house, that was hiring. On the days that I work, I run the whole store. I get to cook, run the register, and get you gas. My first Saturday working, half of my family came to see me and get food. Also that day I was working with the one of the owners and he called up some of his friends, and told them breakfast was on him. He thought they would all order something different, but they all ordered the Sage Breakfast, which is just, hash browns, sausage or bacon, eggs any way you want and toast. I just had to change the meat and eggs for each order, the only one who had something different was the owner, he had a smothered breakfast burrito.

My first day working totally alone was yesterday, it wasn't as busy, but I still got to talk to people and cook. Also I have a guy I have to call to sell beer to people. Yesterday was the first time I had to call him, and I honestly just asked him to come stand in the store so I could ring up the customers. He did, he just came in and stood in front of the register until I was done, then left. It was great. Jessica came by and bought some stuff, we watched this big semi for a couple minutes to see if he would come in and ask for food because the kitchen was closing. He never did, he fixed his semi and left. It was a pretty good day. I work again on Friday.

That's the only update I have right now, I'll post when something new happens.

Hey guys!! Long time no write

Hey everyone!! So since the last time I posted I have moved twice, had a birthday, and have had two jobs. We can start with my birthday.. it was great! I turned 22 Yay!!!!! A couple of weeks after my birthday I moved in with my cousin Devan!! It was fun then I got a job at the Smiths fuel center right down from her house! It was an okay job but it was only part time and the money was not what I needed. So like a month ago I got a job with our friend Ellen and her family and moved down to bountiful from Ogden three weeks ago. I help out with the kids and help her husband with a growing business. So that is what had been going on with me. I promise to post more often!

Hey

Hello. I lost my charger for a couple months, but I found it today! The most recent changes to happened are, we now have four goats and two horses. I cut my hair, I am a nursery leader, Adam and I celebrated our third anniversary. This week I am at Ellen's house to hang out with Tina and look for a job. I am still living with my mom.

Halloween is over and my birthday and Thanksgiving are this month and I could not be happier! I turn twenty and the next Thursday is Thanksgiving, How great is that!? I've been trying to convince Adam to take me to The Puppy Barn, and it hasn't been successful. I told him he could take me there for my birthday and it would be okay. He just laughed and said, "Okay." I don't think it's going to happen.

Updates

Like Martina said I do have a summer job, I am watching my older sister's kids. I have this week off because it is her wedding week. For that day Martina and I have been requested to make 96 (100 really), cupcakes. We are making Red Velvet and Boybait cupcakes.

This weeks adventures have Chet's gopher count to 8, and I got Chet a new friend.

This is Dolly. She is part australian shepherd, border collie and blue heeler. Mostly australian shepherd. She is a month old and is very lazy. She plays in the early morning and the early evening. In the afternoon she lounges with Chet. She has met India, Rose, Honeysuckle, and the cats. Our Lucy chicken and the others don't mind her, its the Stella chicken that challenges her everyday. In a few months that won't happen.

After getting used to not being in a pile of puppies, she follows and copies Chet. Yesterday they were sitting in shade, today they have been taking naps. They have been in two different positions since they started their naps, with Chet starting both. Saturday will be her first camping trip to my sister's wedding.

My older brother also got a puppy, he has Dolly's brother who has been renamed Rollo. I'll get pictures on Friday.

My goats name is Darth Juan. He is a cutie! My oldest sis is getting married next weekend. I am very excited for her! My job search is still on going....so far no luck but I am still looking. If anybody knows of anyone hiring that would be great.

The animal adventures we've had so far.

At the beginning of the week we had done the usual animal rounds for the night and were getting ready for bed, when my little sister heard Eris at the back door and noticed Mara frozen between the house and the shed, where they sleep. Our Button kitty had brought the kittens to the house. After we picked them up and brought them in the house, she disappeared under the porch. With Button seeming worried and a bit shaken, my dad went out to see if he could find anything. Button followed and was double checking every were my dad went. We don't know what she was hunting that night, but it was big or scary enough that the shed was not safe for Eris, or Mara. This happened a second time but the cause was the neighbors dogs viciously barking and growling at something. When Martina and I went to check on the cats, the dogs stopped baring, and the Button calmed down.

The following day we let our goats, Honeysuckle and Rose, graze in the field next to the alfalfa field. A few moments after we came inside, my mom yelled for me. When I got outside the goats had gotten lose and were happily grazing on new grass and slowly making their way down the road, now this wouldn't have been a big deal, except for the fact that we don't have a gate yet. So mom and I had to get their attention, then either keep it or grab their collars. We ended up grabbing their collars and walking them back to the pen. Since then we have fixed the ropes and the goats graze happily where we want them now.

A few days later, my mom's friend came over with her family, and while she was here Button finally caught the gopher she has been trying to get. She didn't really wound it bad enough to die quickly, she just wounded it enough that he came out of the hole and wondered around and tried to dig more holes. During the weird running and hole digging Button just watched and occasionally hit him. The boys that were visiting couldn't stand it suffering, so they killed it. Button then grabbed it and ran into the shed and did what a cat would normally do with its kill.

New animals!!

We have new kittens to share with you! Our neighbors are moving at the end of the month and are only keepinng the momma cat, so we went and got Eris.

She is the smallest one. She is calm and curious. So curious that she tried to fight a chicken before she realized how big it was. Then we had her meet Button and that didn't go over very well. So we thought she might need a friend. That's how we got our Mara.

She is much bigger than Eris, and she is our cautious fighter. She is very careful and cautious about things around her, but she'll fight anything that's not too big.

Oreo cookies and cream Cupcakes

Today, we made these cupcakes so we thought we would share them with everyone!

Cupcakes
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
Whipped cream:
·        2 pints of heavy Whipping cream
·        6 tablespoons of Granulated sugar
·        1 teaspoon of Vanilla
Topping and filling:
·        1 row of crushed Oreos
·        Oreo cookies and cream instant pudding or *cook and serve

  1. Position rack in center of oven and preheat oven to 350°F. Line two 12-cupcake pans with paper cupcake cups.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter on medium-high speed until creamy, about 30 seconds. Gradually add the sugar and beat at high speed until light, about 3 minutes. Reduce the speed to medium and add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Mix in the vanilla and almond extract.
  4. Reduce the speed to low and add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating them with the sour cream and mixing just until blended.
  5. Divide the batter among the cupcake cups 1/3 of the way full. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a cupcake comes out clean. Cool cupcakes on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
  6. While the cupcakes are cooling make the cookies and cream pudding. *If you use cook and serve make sure you make it before you start your cupcakes. After you make your pudding start on the whipped cream.
  7. Pour the whipping cream into a medium size bowl; with an electric mixer beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. After soft peaks form add the vanilla and sugar; then continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  8. Once the whipping cream is done, it’s time to take the middle out of the cupcakes. Take the cupcakes one by one and with a melon baller or knife take out the middle of your cupcake. Once that is done pipe in pudding to the top of the cupcakes; now go ahead and pipe the whip cream to cover pudding then add the crushed Oreos to the top.

Sorry!

Hey, sorry I am late with my post. So last weekend my mom, Carter, Clarissa, Talya, and I all went to Wyoming to see my moms friend Tara. We had a blast, well besides th 5 1/2 hour car ride there and back. At Tara's we held baby goats, beheaded 5 roosters, tried goats milk ( I rather like it), made dinner, shot a bow and arrow, we also got to see her spinning wheel. It was a good trip and I had tons of fun!

Animals and pictures

I promised you pictures, but I didn't see a point in posting them on my blog, when they are also on my mother's blog. Our Little Homestead: Our little city homestead has moved to the country. Also I gave my talk yesterday along with my dad. Being the center of attention is not something I enjoy.

Here's an update on the animals, last night Adam brought some comfrey over to put on Chet’s nose. After we washed his face again he didn't seem to mind it. This morning my dad washed it again and put more liquid Band-Aid, this time though, he tried to put it in a small container to put it on, rather than spraying on his nose. Chet still hates it. It doesn't look as bad yesterday, but it still looks gross. Today I believe we are taking him to the vet to see what's wrong. I'll post an update on how it goes. Even though he has a cone on, he is still our happy Chet. I am able to post pictures of his nose but it's rather gross. If you would like me to can, but you'll have to comment so I know.

Yesterday while my dad cleaned the rabbit cage, we let Flynn out in a fenced area to be outside. She didn't really know what to do. This was her second time outside in the Vernon house. In the old house she was able to play in the entire backyard, however, here our backyard is 5 acres and if we let her loose we might never see her again.

We've been walking India around to let her eat some of the unwanted grass or weeds we have. The neighbors have horses as well, and when India is out of her field she likes talk to them as she walks by. Yesterday I had her out for about an hour and when she went back into her field the other horses got out to graze and she had a fit. She was running her fence neighing at them and trying to get them to look at her. Yesterday we had her out to eat the grass in the garden.

My family got back from Wyoming yesterday, and brought back Button. She is the new hunter. We have her mainly for mice and the pocket gophers we have. At the moment she won't go outside. Even though this is the first time she has been in a house in her life.

She really likes my brother, and will only nap, if you are in his room with her. You don't have to be on the bed or next to her, just in the room.

Martina will update you on the trip to Wyoming. Have a great day!

An apology, update and more.

Hey guys, sorry for totally not posting for a very long while, we've been moving, unpacking and just getting organized. However during all of the craziness of packing the old house, our Riley-Kitty got lost, it has been weeks and we haven't seen him, we've had our neighbors look for him, but they haven't had much luck, so we came to the conclusion that he left us to be in a better place.
Upon this thought I had my grandmother write something about him, (he really was her cat). And this is what she came up with,

We have said good-bye to our sweet, delicate, independent, best kitty ever there was. We will miss his walking us to the door, we will miss his sleeping on our beds and climbing up our chests and giving us a scratchy massage. Most of all we will miss how much Riley loved us.

Here's a quick update. We enjoy being here we are boarding my aunts horse, and we take her on walks around the property everyday possible. Something happened to Chet and his face is all gross. We have tried a few things like, a cone of shame, Neosporin, and liquid Band-Aid for dogs. But each time we let him outside he scratches his face and makes it worse, I'd post a picture but its really gross. Yesterday during ballet I hung out with Adam for a few hours. This weekend my mom took some of the family to Wyoming to visit a friend. She is bringing back two new kittens. My dad and Kielee are at the sand dunes, and I am home with some of the little kids. Adam is coming over after work, last time he was here it was raining so we weren't able to take a tour of the property, today it's a great sunny day.

Again I apologize for not posting for almost a month. Now that we are getting settled We'll post more.

OH! P.s. I'll post pictures of the property when I can. Also my dad and I are talking in sacrament tomorrow. Wish me luck!

We need your opinion on this one.

Hey guys, for this post we would really like you to comment.

We are home from college and moving, so this would no longer be The College Life, we were wondering if you would still be interested in reading the blog if it was, Two Sisters. Because we are both getting ready to do different things together. It would be about what we are doing, planning on doing, and what happens during our life.

It would be fantastic if you could comment, so we know if we should continue with Two Sisters, or not. Thanks guys!

We are Home!

We are home! We arrived home last night around 7:30. We got settled and Faith, my brother Taylor, and my Grandma watched a movie. I hung out in my room and played with my new phone. Today, at church my mom, and I bore our testimony in sacrament meeting. I was so nervous, I shook for a half and hour after. I had a lot of  fun in church today, I missed going to a family ward and seeing a the little kids. Its going to be a little weird to go to a family ward without Tanya Sall and Kandis Broadhead. So, this next week we are just packing and getting ready to move!

Last week!

Hello everyone! It's finals week!! By Saturday afternoon, I will be all packed and on my way home. Most of this week I will be studying, my last final is Friday. After that, I'll be able to relax.

For conference weekend, we had a sleepover. Just like the last sleepover, with our beds in the living room. It was so much fun! We woke up, turned it on, and watched from bed.

Being the last week it's exciting but it's also kind of sad. It's exciting because we are done with classes, and we can also relax and breathe. However, it's sad because we are leaving the friends we have made here. The people I have met and enjoyed hanging out with, will be the past I miss the most.

The Weekend!

Faith and I had the opportunity go home this weekend and it was awesome! We went to the orthodontist first thing and he kept asking me when I was going to come and see him again. After the orthodontist I went to ballet with my mom, and went shopping at Kohl’s. Saturday, I hung out until 11:30 then I got to go see Alana. After that I got Pie with my mom, dad, and Faith. Kielee and her boyfriend Austin came over for dinner, it was fun! After dinner I went to my Aunt Margaret’s, I painted and made peanut butter cookies. Mostly we just laughed a lot at everything! And today we drove all day to Rexburg!

The weekend events.

This weekend we were able to be home, and it was awesome. Although most of Saturday I was physically drained, I did do things. However, towards the end of the day I did start to get more tired and not want to move much. Now for the weekend, when I was finished at the orthodontist on Friday, I went with Kiersta to get her hair done and I got to say hi to her boyfriend at work. After Adam got off of work we went to Arby’s for dinner then to his house, where I watched Home while he took a short nap.

Saturday morning I went to a sale with Adam, Ben, Chantay, and her family. After I had pie with my mom, dad, and Martina. Shortly after Adam and I hung out at his house. When dinner was finished Adam took me to see Zootopia and get frozen yogurt.

Sunday morning Adam and I hung out for a bit before I had to come back to Idaho, we got the car all packed and my mom, Clarissa, Martina, and I went to get my grandpa to start the trip back to Idaho.

Have a great week!

P.S. We have a new countdown for the end of the semester as well.

What Faith Said!

The past couple of weeks have been pretty uneventful up here in Rexburg. The highlight of the last couple of weeks was that I got a cookbook and a CD with pictures of my grandpa from my biological father. It has a lot of good recipes. I am super excited to use it!! They even have a recipe for baklava. Which I was super happy about, I mean it’s a good treat and it sounds like a Klingon swear word!

Nothing exciting happens close to the end of the semster!

Hey, nothing major has happened to us since the last time I posted. However my parents have the Magna house under contract, and they have a house in Vernon under contract. They are waiting to hear back about what needs to be done next. Martina and I have been looking for an apartment to move into, after being home and working for a few months.

School is going great, I have an orthodontist appointment on Friday, which means I get to come home for weekend! I am so excited! I have missed being home with everyone. I hear that I am needed by one animal the most. Which just happens to be the Riley-Kitty, he has been following everyone around meowing, which is unusual for him. When I am there he just sits with me and follows me. I want to take him with me when I move out, because I have made him needy, and no one else really likes him besides me and my grandma (he really is her cat but I claimed him).

I hope everyone has an exciting rest of the week, and I’ll give you the update about this weekend on Sunday!

We are still in the land of the living

Faith and I are still alive we promise. Its been a busy couple of weeks with school. We are still having a blast with our roommates and school. There have been a couple of changes since our last post. The weather in Rexburg has been warmer and continues to warm up. The other thing that has changed is that I have been diagnosed with ADHD. I am right now working on finding the right medication and dosage. It has actually been really nice to focus and not have my thoughts all jumbled up. My school work has been going better and I feel better and get more done during the day. We had to do some hardcore college student eating for a couple of weeks. It was pretty fun! We also got a package from my aunt. It was for Valentines Day. We just picked up late! It was awesome.

We're alive, I promise!

Hey there, sorry for not posting and keeping with the schedule, we've been busy with school work and life. Nothing bad or serious happened, we've just been too busy to do the blog. We went home again for Valentine's Day. We were able to stay longer because Monday was a holiday, so we had more time to do things. Because we have been doing homework and figuring things out I don't really remember what we did that weekend. But here is what I do remember. When we got to the house it was late, so Martina went to bed after giving out hugs. I gave out hugs and then went to see Kiersta and Ryan at the shop. After I got home from that, I hung out with Wesley and we watch one of his TV shows.

On Saturday I hung out at the house until Adam was done doing things with his family. We drove around trying to think of something to do on Valentine's Day. We ended up going to Taco Bell for dinner, and then heading to his house to hang out. On Sunday I went to church with Adam, after we went to his house and I got to see his niece. I didn't get to hold her very long. We hung out at the house on Monday, and when the time came we drove to pick up the roommates to drive back to Idaho. I ended up driving the entire way home, and calling Adam for the last bit to stay awake.

While home I got to play with Chet, our dog. After going outside to check on the chickens he wouldn’t let me go back inside. We played for a while but then I needed to go inside to eat.

A week after getting home my aunt informed me that she had sent me a package and it has been here since the eleventh, and Martina didn’t check her email about it. She had gotten together some candy with my cousin. It was amazing! We got a second Valentine’s Day!

Well that is the update I have for you guys! Have a great week and if you are wondering when we'll be in Utah next, there is a countdown at the very bottom of the blog!

Monday, February 8, 2016

Hello there.

Hello, sorry I haven't updated for two weeks, we had a lot of stuff going on. The first week, one of our roommates went home due to personal reasons. After she notified us that she was leaving, she helped Ashley figure out if her friend could move in. After we got that figured out. Martina and I had to get things for the 3 hour drive to my orthodontist appointment.
When we got home Friday afternoon all the kids screamed and hugged us and told us everything they thought we missed. Later that night Martina got a text from Justin asking where everyone was, because when he knocked and walked into the apartment, no one was in the living room.
Saturday was busier than I thought it was going to be. First I helped my mom and the young women set up for a fund raiser, then I had three dates for that afternoon/evening. The first one was with my older brother, Taylor. We went to the mall and helped find something he needed after the mall we went to lunch and laughed a lot! It was so much fun spending time with him. Next Martina and I watched Goosebumps with my dad and all the kids. Right after that I went to see Kung Fu Panda 3 with my boyfriend, Adam. That movie was pretty awesome.
By Sunday afternoon I was ready to come back to Idaho and see everyone here. It was so great seeing everyone this weekend. I can't wait until next time.

Everyday Life!!!

Monday: Was Family Home Evening, we went to the Craze and before we played laser tag, we went to the arcade. We won enough tickets to get everybody that went vampire teeth.team, After arcade games we played laser tag. My team won!!!! I didn't think we won because Justin pretty much stalked our team to death

Top left: Justin, Ashley, me, Jodi, Emily bottom left: Logan, Rylee, and Grizzly.

Tuesday: Elder Bednar came and spoke at devotional. It was pretty awesome! Jodi and I went to the post office. Did you know that stamps cost $9.80? We also went to the store and bought soda that taste like a caramel apple. Oh one of the best thing that happened that day was that Rylee got asked out on a date!

Wednesday: The new Wal-mart opened and we went to do our next couple of week of shopping. After that we noticed we had not seen Justin in a few days. So, Faith texted him this, "We noticed something is missing from our lives, and its you."

Thursday (Today): Clean checks! We sparkly cleaned the apartment!

Midweek update!

On Monday the apartment went to play The Craze, I stayed behind to catch up on work. When they were finished, Justin, Martina, and Ashley came back while everyone else went to Cafe Rio. When everyone came back we had cupcakes for Grizzly's birthday. Our home teachers and Mike come over as well. For the dessert war, Mike baked cinnamon rolls, they were pretty good, but the frosting was made with cream cheese so it didn't go well together. Our next move is mini cheesecake.

On Tuesday we went to Devotional and got to hear Elder Bednar speak. We sat on the balcony and had an amazing view. I would have a picture for you, but they respectfully asked us not to take them. There were so many people there, it was amazing!

The picture above, was after devotional was over and everyone was exiting. As Rylee pointed out, this is not even 1/16th of the people there.

Wednesday, we went to the new Wal-Mart, and did our shopping for the next 3 weeks! It was awesome being in a huge Wal-mart again. It took forever to find parking and to pay but it was worth it in the end. We also noted that Justin, who had been over three days in a row, hadn't been over for two days. We asked why and assumed that he died, or if he was kidnapped by midget clowns. Turns out he was on a date.

Tonight Rylee is going on a date with Mike. Also seeing how they are in my blog I thought you might want know who my roommates are.

So, going from left to right Faith (that's me),  Martina, Ashley, Emily, Jodi, and Rylee.

I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week and I'll catch up with you on Sunday!

Baking and brothers.

This week nothing major happened, classes are going great. Today our Family Home Evening family is going to play laser tag. We also started a baking war with some other guys we know, we've made them cookies, stuffed cookies, next we're making mini cheesecakes. They've made us brownies, and have yet to make a second item.

Justin came over last night to ask about Family Home Evening plans and stayed for a few hours. After we had ward prayer he came over to talk to Emily about a friend he has for a date, and apologized about coming over again. Without thinking about it Martina and I said, “Oh, we could never get tired of you.” Which is true. He stayed to played card games and performed magic tricks. He would do the same trick until we figured it out, I still don't know how they are done.

We don't do anything!!!!

So, this past week has been really boring and slow. I was sick for most of the week. I guess the most exciting thing that happened was Sunday night, our FHE brother Justin came over to talk about what we were going to do for FHE and he ended up staying for a couple of hours. We had ward prayer and it was amazing. Justin then came back over around 9ish. We talked, played BS, and ate cookies. Oh, we started a dessert war with an apartment in our ward. We are totally going to win.

Martina's week?

Hello readers,

I thought you'd like to see this lovely picture I took today:

Now to get to why you get to hear from me twice this week, Martina hasn't been feeling well, and has been laying in bed or on the couch. She tried going to class today, she made it to the lobby and went back to bed. Hopefully we will hear from her next week.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Busy, busy

This week, classes went by fast, We were able to Skype the parents and the little kids. We went shopping and bought so much stuff.

I took a day off on Thursday for homework and sleep. On Friday we started our four day weekend, we started by moving all of our mattresses into the living room and picked some movies to watch. On Saturday we drove to Idaho Falls and went to the mall for a few hours. On Sunday we tried a new recipe and we made too much and had to ask Justin and the guys over to finish the rest.

Monday came and we reluctantly moved our mattresses back to our rooms and invited the guys over to watch a movie. Later that night we found out who our Family Home Evening brothers were. While we were waiting, we joked that they might be the guys we've been hanging out with. Turns out, they are! It was awesome! When we sat at our table Justin laughed and said he wasn't part of the group choosing. After we played games, the guys came back over and we watched another movie.

My first week

My week has been great. It hasn't been crazy or too hectic, but I found out adulting alone, is harder than adulting with my parents or my boyfriend.

Monday was the day to unpack and get everything I needed. We unpacked and sorted belongings. I got my I-Card, parking pass, I changed my major, and got new classes. After my parents left, Martina and I went shopping for but ended up having to part with some items, so we could still get books and such.

On Tuesday Martina helped me find my classes and get books. After changing my major I didn't need many books, we got two I-clickers and Macbeth. After we got home, we continued to organize our room and rest until I-night started.

Wednesday was the first day of classes. I had one, one hour class in the morning that ended at 10. I then realized that I was in need of a smaller backpack, due to the fact that I only needed my tablet, a notebook, a folder, my I-clicker, and some pen and pencils. I had the rest of the day to get things that I didn't get on Monday or Tuesday.

Thursday I had two classes scheduled but I only had to go to one of them. This class is my Foundations of Humanities, it seems like a fun class and the teacher got off track a few times. I only had to fix a class I have, the teacher doesn't go off I-Learn and I didn't receive any of the emails he said that he was sending out, with the information I needed for the assignments in his class, I found his email and I'm waiting for a response.

Friday. I survived the first week. With classes, it was the same as my Wednesday. After class we got invited to a party and only one of us went. The rest of us watched movies and occasionally people watched out of our window.

Saturday, was much like Friday. We did homework, got invited to two different parties happening at the same, and we went to neither, we spent the day together and laughed and watched people and movies.

On Sunday, we went to church, watched the fireside and met the bishopric.

First Day of Second shot of College

Well, its been a fun couple of days! Faith and I are all moved and have meet are roommates! Monday we moved everything into our apartment. This apartment is way better than the previous apartment I was in. Tuesday we ran a few more errands, then we went to I-night. We watched a comedy show and it was pretty funny.
